A (bonus) day in Lisbon

We docked in Lisbon quite early. The seas had calmed down during the night. We were up early and had breakfast in our suite.

Lisbon looking gorgeous in the morning light

Our tour left at 8:45. Christi and Matt were on the same bus. We drove about an hour to Sintra, a lovely town in the hills outside Lisbon. We had free time (no churches, palaces or museums today!). So we wandered around with Christi and Matt, sampling the cherry liqueur in chocolate cups, shopping and having cuppas and Pastel de Nata, custard tarts.

Enjoying coffee and Pastal de nata - yum!

Very colourful shops selling brightly coloured tins

best enjoyed in tiny chocolate cups

We rejoined the bus, driving through the National park (gum trees everywhere!) to the coast.

We stopped in Cascais for another break. We walked to the fishing harbour Cascais is very upmarket, with pricey housing and posh shops. We then drove back to our ship. It was a very nice, unrushed tour.

Once back at the ship we had a pizza lunch in The Marquee with Christi and Matt - lots of laughs!

We went to final bingo and trivia  Ian won 20 prize points in bingo, but we crashed out of trivia again. We redeemed all our prize points (240, including 100 from our last cruise)  I got a tote bag, baseball cap and a tiny teddy bear - all free advertising for Silversea!

We got all of our packing done and then went up to The Marquee where we had booked a table for eight, all of our trivia team. It was another great night!

Final dinner in The Grill in Marquee

We got back to our suite at about 10:30 and put our suitcases out for collection by 11pm.
