We had a bit of a sleep in. Ian still not sleeping well, but jet lag is gone. We had a nice light breakfast and headed out to walk around Nice.
There is no coffee in the apartment, so we stopped at a cafe for Ian to get his caffeine fix, then we wandered around the Coars Saleya market. We decided to have dinner in tonight, so bought some pate, ham, cheese, tomatoes, bread and peaches. We took our goodies home and went out for lunch.
The main drag in Nice is called the Promenade des Anglais. We found a restaurant looking out to the beach and had a very nice lunch of Croque Madame for Ian and a Salad Nicoise for me, washed down with a cold glass of wine each.
After lunch we bought tickets for the tourist tram and had a wander along the promenade. Lots of people around, but it is a weekend, so probably lots of weekend visitors. The beach is quite rocky, but the water looks calm and lovely.
We boarded the electric tourist tram at 2:30 and had a nice look around and heard about some of the history of Nice. We went up to Castle Hill and had 10 minutes to walk around and take some photos - pretty good views!
We walked back to our apartment for a nice quiet evening, eating delicious food and watching a documentary about Eric Clapton’s career in the 1970s. We went to bed at about 10:30.
