Sunday in Lisbon

We both slept pretty well, but decided to have a quiet start to the overcast day. I have been feeling pretty well and did a RAT test in the hope that my COVID was gone. Unfortunately there was still a faint line, so fingers crossed that it will be clear tomorrow for embarkation!

We walked down the hill to walk to the Mercado Da Ribiera, the fresh food market. Despite the online description the food part of that market is not open on weekends - on Sundays they have a stamp and coin market. Right next door is the Time Out Market which is a huge food hall - very touristy, but appealing in the drizzly weather.

We had a cuppa and a Pasteis De Nata (Portuguese custard tart) at the Pasteis da nata “factory”. Our guide from yesterday, Miguel, advised to have them with a sprinkle of cinnamon - he was right and they are delicious!

Yum!

We went for a quick walk along the river, but it was very misty and drizzly, so we headed back to the Time Out market. By this time it was almost lunchtime and the place was packed! Lots of tourists avoiding the rain. We walked around and bought some ham and goats cheese (and two more Pasteis da nata for dessert) to have for dinner. Then we bought some bread rolls with suckling pig to take back to our apartment for lunch.

We had a quiet afternoon, finalised washing and prepared for embarkation tomorrow. We enjoyed our light dinner and headed off to bed.
