Siracusa, Sicily - our favourite place!

We docked in Siracusa at 8 am, to a gorgeous sunrise.

After breakfast in our suite we met our bus for an 8:30 departure. Our trivia team were all on the tour today. We started off with the obligatory quick spin around the town - it is such a lovely place! We drove to the Siracusa Archaeological site, where we saw the old quarry, the “ear of Dionysius” grotto and the Greek theatre.

We then drove back into Siracusa town to Ortigia, on foot for the remainder of the tour. Ortigia is the old town and is beautiful. We stopped at the cathedral (of course), the Arethusa fountain, and some gorgeous little streets to the beach.

We left the tour in Ortigia and ended up having lunch with Christi and Matt, from our trivia team, in a sweet little restaurant. We all had beers and wonderful pasta.

We returned to the ship in time for bingo and trivia - bombed out again! Ian had a haircut in the spa. It was quite expensive and they didn’t really take enough off!

We had dinner at The Grill in the Marquee. Again we were unwilling to cook it ourselves, so the chef cooked our eye fillet and prawns to perfection!
